Advent Calendar 2025 and Prayer Diary

Everyone in Jerusalem, celebrate and shout! Your king has won a victory, and he is coming to you. He is humble and rides on a donkey; he comes on the colt of a donkey. Zechariah 9 v9	Bethlehem Ephrath, you are one of the smallest towns in the nation of Judah. But the LORD will choose one of your people to rule the nation someone whose family goes back to ancient times. Micah 5 v2
Jesus then turned to his disciples and said to them in private, “You are really blessed to see what you see! Many prophets and kings were eager to see what you see and to hear what you hear. But I tell you that they did not see or hear.” Luke 10 v23-24	All of them pleased God because of their faith! But still they died without being given what had been promised. This was because God had something better in store for us. And he did not want them to reach the goal of their faith without us. Hebrews 11 v39-40

Daily Prayer: Today let’s pray for peace. Peace in our families and amongst our friends. Peace in our community, country, continent and world. The prophets foretold the coming of a ruler, shepherd, a humble Prince of Peace. Jesus has come and now we receive him by accepting and sharing the peace he offers.
Pray for peace in Sudan, in Gaza, West Bank and Israel, in Ukraine and Russia.

Let’s also pray today for the family and friends of Dorothy Bowman, whose Memorial Service is being held this afternoon at Garden Park Community Centre at 3pm. Rest in Peace to Rise in Glory!
We continue to pray for Mrs Talenta Chakoma, mourning the loss of her Mum, and ask God’s comfort on all the family.

Daily Bible reading: Micah 5 v2-5a

2 Bethlehem Ephrath, you are one of the smallest towns
in the nation of Judah.
But the LORD will choose one of your people
to rule the nation
someone whose family goes back to ancient times.
3 The LORD will abandon Israel only until this ruler is born,
and the rest of his family returns to Israel.
4 Like a shepherd taking care of his sheep,
this ruler will lead and care for his people
by the power and glorious name of the LORD his God.
His people will live securely,
and the whole earth will know his true greatness,
5 because he will bring peace.
