Christmas message from the Connexional Youth President:
Hello MCZ family. I reach out to you during these trying times not only for our nation but for the entire created order. I urge every person especially the youths to stay indoors and avoid being a statistic and forcing others to be statistics. Hustling and other business activities will forever be there but let’s exercise caution and avoid spreading the corona virus.
On the other hand, l urge you all to continue in prayer, pay your tithes through Ecocash and bank transfers. This virus will not rob us of our spirituality because a church is never a building but a community of believers. Also, with the privilege of technology and internet, we can grab this chance to make use of online church services, discussions and classes on Whatsapp platforms, Facebook and so forth. This will also help in strengthening the MCZ church for effective delivery. In as much as we may be far away from each other geographically, let’s be even closer to each other spiritually.
To us the younger generation, the virus teaches us not to depend on our own initiatives but to look up to the mountains, for our salvation comes from the one who created heavens and earth (Psalm 121).
In this disastrous time, let’s not forget to share with the disadvantaged via Ecocash and other safer means thus enhancing our Social Responsibility. For in such a period as this of social distancing, it actually means more poverty and hunger especially to the less privileged. Remember, you are your ‘brother/sister’s keeper’ which is the essence of UBUNTU perspective.
It is also vital to utilize this time to effectively work on yourself, plan , develop skills and strengthen family bonds. As you exercise self-quarantine and social distancing, do not forget to exercise hygiene measures. STAY SMART, STAY SAFE!!
