Theme: Helping others as a response to Gods Help
Readings : Exodus 18:4 ; Matthew 5:16
Hello family and friends I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
Today we are going to learn about helping one another just as God helps us everyday.
First off.. because this is an online lesson, and not in class as we would be, we’re going to need our mummies and daddies and uncles and aunts to HELP us learn what it means to be helpful.
For this we are going to need 2 sheets of paper. We are going to have a walking relay. Each person will get a chance to be a walker and a helper. The helper will lay a sheet of paper on the floor. The walker will step on it. Then the helper will lay the second sheet of paper down. The walkers feet can’t touch the floor. The helper will keep moving the papers to lead the walker around and back to the starting point.
When you get back to the start point, the walker becomes the next persons helper …
was it fun? How did it feel being the helper.?
Just as helping each other made the race easier, helping each other in real life makes things a whole lot easier, too, Plus helping each other makes us all feel good. *
And it makes Jesus happy because > Jesus wants us to help others.
There’s a certain story in the bible we find in Mark 2: 1-12. Its best to have your Bible with you here ☺️… so we can read it aloud. We can have our brothers and sisters help us with this story too.
•We are going to need a tent/ tie old sheets together to form a tent and get inside, a cardboard box dismembered and a stuffed dolly..
This story is about helping people. Many times we use our hands to help people. So every time the WORD ‘HELP’ or ‘HELPED’ pops up during the story clap your hands 3 times..
This is great, lets move along..
So one day Jesus went to a town called Capernaum and the people were so excited that they all helped tell everyone the news. They said, “ Have you heard? Jesus the teacher has come home to Capernaum. “ People were all packed in the house to listen to Jesus just as we are in our pretend house here.
But there were four men who wanted to help their friend get inside to see Jesus and only Jesus could help this man because this man was paralyzed and he could not walk at all! The four friends tried to carry the man inside the door but there were too many people – they could not fit. They looked at the house and wondered how they were going to help their friend get inside. Then they had a great idea. They decided to cut a hole in the roof and let their friend down through the hole.
They all helped carry their friend up to the roof. Then they dug and chopped until there was a hole in the roof.
Qs: What do you think people inside thought as the four men made a hole in the roof?

When the hole was big enough, the four men picked up the friend and carefully lowered him down inside the house. …
Here we are going to need two volunteers to rip a hole on your tent and carefully lower the stuffed animal/ dolly through the roof.
As we read through the story, we learn that God can use each of us in big or little ways.
The four friends of the paralyzed man helped their friend in a little way by bringing him to Jesus , and then Jesus helped the man in a big way – he healed the man.
God can use you to help your friends in big ways or little ways too. The important thing is, You are helping.🥰
The four men knew that their friend needed help and did everything they could to make sure he got help.

36 So they left the crowd, and his disciples started across the lake with him in the boat. Some other boats followed along. 37 Suddenly a windstorm struck the lake. Waves started splashing into the boat, and it was about to sink.
38 Jesus was in the back of the boat with his head on a pillow, and he was asleep. His disciples woke him and said, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re about to drown?”
39 Jesus got up and ordered the wind and the waves to be quiet. The wind stopped, and everything was calm.
40 Jesus asked his disciples, “Why were you afraid? Don’t you have any faith?”
41 Now they were more afraid than ever and said to each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
Genesis 17
1 Abram was ninety-nine years old when the LORD appeared to him again and said, “I am God All-Powerful. If you obey me and always do right, 2 I will keep my solemn promise to you and give you more descendants than can be counted.” 3 Abram bowed with his face to the ground, and God said:
4-5 I promise that you will be the father of many nations. That’s why I now change your name from Abram to Abraham. 6 I will give you a lot of descendants, and in the future they will become great nations. Some of them will even be kings.
7 I will always keep the promise I have made to you and your descendants, because I am your God and their God.
15 Abraham, your wife’s name will now be Sarah instead of Sarai. 16 I will bless her, and you will have a son by her. She will become the mother of nations, and some of her descendants will even be kings.
Romans 4
13 God promised Abraham and his descendants that he would give them the world. This promise wasn’t made because Abraham had obeyed a law, but because his faith in God made him acceptable. 14 If Abraham and his descendants were given this promise because they had obeyed a law, then faith would mean nothing, and the promise would be worthless.
15 God becomes angry when his Law is broken. But where there isn’t a law, it cannot be broken. 16 Everything depends on having faith in God, so that God’s promise is assured by his great kindness. This promise isn’t only for Abraham’s descendants who have the Law. It is for all who are Abraham’s descendants because they have faith, just as he did. Abraham is the ancestor of us all. 17 The Scriptures say that Abraham would become the ancestor of many nations. This promise was made to Abraham because he had faith in God, who raises the dead to life and creates new things.
18 God promised Abraham a lot of descendants. And when it all seemed hopeless, Abraham still had faith in God and became the ancestor of many nations. 19 Abraham’s faith never became weak, not even when he was nearly a hundred years old. He knew that he was almost dead and that his wife Sarah could not have children. 20 But Abraham never doubted or questioned God’s promise. His faith made him strong, and he gave all the credit to God.
21 Abraham was certain that God could do what he had promised. 22 So God accepted him, 23 just as we read in the Scriptures. But these words were not written only for Abraham. 24 They were written for us, since we will also be accepted because of our faith in God, who raised our Lord Jesus to life. 25 God gave Jesus to die for our sins, and he raised him to life, so that we would be made acceptable to God.
John 2
13 Not long before the Jewish festival of Passover, Jesus went to Jerusalem. 14 There he found people selling cattle, sheep, and doves in the temple. He also saw moneychangers sitting at their tables. 15 So he took some rope and made a whip. Then he chased everyone out of the temple, together with their sheep and cattle. He turned over the tables of the moneychangers and scattered their coins.
16 Jesus said to the people who had been selling doves, “Get those doves out of here! Don’t make my Father’s house a marketplace.”
17 The disciples then remembered that the Scriptures say, “My love for your house burns in me like a fire.”
18 The Jewish leaders asked Jesus, “What miracle will you work to show us why you have done this?”
19 “Destroy this temple,” Jesus answered, “and in three days I will build it again!”
20 The leaders replied, “It took forty-six years to build this temple. What makes you think you can rebuild it in three days?”
21 But Jesus was talking about his body as a temple. 22 And when he was raised from death, his disciples remembered what he had told them. Then they believed the Scriptures and the words of Jesus.
