Bible readings:

Psalm 19

1 The heavens keep telling the wonders of God,
and the skies declare what he has done.
2 Each day informs the following day;
each night announces to the next.
3 They don’t speak a word,
and there is never the sound of a voice.
4 Yet their message reaches all the earth,
and it travels around the world.

In the heavens a tent is set up for the sun.
5 It rises like a bridegroom
and gets ready like a hero eager to run a race.
6 It travels all the way across the sky.
Nothing hides from its heat.

7 The Law of the LORD is perfect; it gives us new life.
His teachings last forever,
and they give wisdom to ordinary people.
8 The LORD’S instruction is right;
it makes our hearts glad.
His commands shine brightly, and they give us light.

9 Worshipping the LORD is sacred;
he will always be worshipped.
All of his decisions are correct and fair.
10 They are worth more than the finest gold
and are sweeter than honey from a honeycomb.

11 By your teachings, LORD, I am warned;
by obeying them, I am greatly rewarded.
12 None of us know our faults.
Forgive me when I sin without knowing it.
13 Don’t let me do wrong on purpose, LORD,
or let sin have control over my life.
Then I will be innocent,
and not guilty of some terrible fault.

14 Let my words and my thoughts
be pleasing to you, LORD,
because you are my mighty rock and my protector.

Exodus 20

1 God said to the people of Israel:
2 I am the LORD your God, the one who brought you out of Egypt where you were slaves.
3 Do not worship any god except me.
4 Do not make idols that look like anything in the sky or on earth or in the ocean under the earth.

7 Do not misuse my name. I am the LORD your God, and I will punish anyone who misuses my name.
8 Remember that the Sabbath Day belongs to me. 9 You have six days when you can do your work,

12 Respect your father and your mother, and you will live a long time in the land I am giving you.
13 Do not murder.
14 Be faithful in marriage.
15 Do not steal.
16 Do not tell lies about others.
17 Do not want anything that belongs to someone else. Don’t want anyone’s house, wife or husband, slaves, oxen, donkeys or anything else.

18 The people trembled with fear when they heard the thunder and the trumpet and saw the lightning and the smoke coming from the mountain. They stood a long way off 19 and said to Moses, “If you speak to us, we will listen. But don’t let God speak to us, or we will die!”
20 “Don’t be afraid!” Moses replied. “God has come only to test you, so that by obeying him you won’t sin.”

Philippians 3

4b Others may brag about themselves, but I have more reason to brag than anyone else. 5 I was circumcised when I was eight days old, and I am from the nation of Israel and the tribe of Benjamin. I am a true Hebrew. As a Pharisee, I strictly obeyed the Law of Moses. 6 And I was so eager that I even made trouble for the church. I did everything the Law demands in order to please God.
7 But Christ has shown me that what I once thought was valuable is worthless. 8 Nothing is as wonderful as knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have given up everything else and count it all as garbage. All I want is Christ 9 and to know that I belong to him. I could not make myself acceptable to God by obeying the Law of Moses. God accepted me simply because of my faith in Christ. 10 All I want is to know Christ and the power that raised him to life. I want to suffer and die as he did, 11 so that somehow I also may be raised to life.

12 I have not yet reached my goal, and I am not perfect. But Christ has taken hold of me. So I keep on running and struggling to take hold of the prize. 13 My friends, I don’t feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead. 14 I run toward the goal, so that I can win the prize of being called to heaven. This is the prize that God offers because of what Christ Jesus has done.

Matthew 21

33 Jesus told the chief priests and leaders to listen to this story:
A land owner once planted a vineyard. He built a wall around it and dug a pit to crush the grapes in. He also built a lookout tower. Then he rented out his vineyard and left the country.
34 When it was harvest time, the owner sent some servants to get his share of the grapes. 35 But the renters grabbed those servants. They beat up one, killed one, and stoned one of them to death. 36 He then sent more servants than he did the first time. But the renters treated them in the same way.
37 Finally, the owner sent his own son to the renters, because he thought they would respect him. 38 But when they saw the man’s son, they said, “Someday he will own the vineyard. Let’s kill him! Then we can have it all for ourselves.” 39 So they grabbed him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.

40 Jesus asked, “When the owner of that vineyard comes, what do you suppose he will do to those renters?” 41 The chief priests and leaders answered, “He will kill them in some horrible way. Then he will rent out his vineyard to people who will give him his share of grapes at harvest time.”
42 Jesus replied, “You surely know that the Scriptures say,

‘The stone that the builders tossed aside
is now the most important stone of all.
This is something the Lord has done,
and it is amazing to us.’

43 I tell you that God’s kingdom will be taken from you and given to people who will do what he demands. 44 Anyone who stumbles over this stone will be crushed, and anyone it falls on will be smashed to pieces.”
45 When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard these stories, they knew that Jesus was talking about them. 46 So they looked for a way to arrest Jesus. But they were afraid to, because the people thought he was a prophet.

Message for Hillside Circuit in English with Mr Shingirai Chifamba:

Theme: God’s heart bends towards Justice.
Justice is the state or character of being just or fair.
Conforming for reality or rules?
We want to look at how God’s heart bends to justice.

God will fight injustice to the end
God is reminding us that the Israelites were victims of injustice in Egypt when they were in bondage for many years. We are suffering from various forms of injustice like racism, child abuse, Human Trafficking, Gender based Violence and exclusion of people with disabilities.
God will not rest until all forms of injustice are defeated.
The Parable of the Bad Husbandmen taught us God will end all forms of injustice. It may take long but at the end there is a victory. The Church of Philippians was also suffering persecution during the time when Paul wrote his letter to them. The Holy Spirit inspired Paul to write the letter to the Philippians as a sign to indicate God was with them during the hard times. Even during these times of corona God is with us.

God’s continuous effort towards justice
God spoke to the Israelites in the darkness, thundering and lightning to put fear in Israelites so that they will not sin.
He sent Prophets who are denoted by servants in the Parable and people did not obey him.He came in Flesh as Jesus Christ and people hardened their hearts. Apostles came; they did not listen too. Now Jesus is speaking to us through Ministers, Preachers and Evangelists but still people are resisting. God warns all perpetrators of injustice.

Justice does not come from law of church or land but from Christ
Paul was an expert of the law of Israelites. He knew laws of clean and unclean meat, festivals and rituals. But he found that all things were useless without Christ.
Today you may be proud for that we know the standing order of the church, history and hymns but you have hatred towards your brother. This is hypocrisy in its fullest.
Paul mentioned that he was an Israelite. Israelites were very proud that they were chosen but Paul is criticising them arguing it is meaningless if you do not have Christ.
As the Methodists we are proud of uniforms and our John Wesley but it’s meaningless if we do not have Christ in our heart.
Justice does not come from the law of land because no one will arrest you for fornication no one will summon for hurting your brother but Christ will ask you on the judgement day.

Conclusion.
Let’s try to follow Jesus’ commandment which fulfils the law which is the commandment of love. Amen

Message for Hillside Circuit in Ndebele with Dr Themba Hwalima:

Siya bingelelana bazalwane enkonzweni yethu ya lamhla sibonga u Jehova ukubana usiphe leli ithuba ukubana sihlangane njenge muli yakhe lapha e Hillside. Siya mbonga u Jesu Khristu ukuthi usi hlanganisile ukubana simkhonze, simdumise, silethe lemi khuleko yethu kuye. Siyali bonga ithuba leli ukubana si phakulelane ilizwi lika Jehova le gama lakhe eliyi kudla kwempilo kulabo aba menywe nguye.
Bazalwane leli lithuba lokuthi sondle ukholo lwethu, siqinisane ngelizwi lika Jehova, siqinisane ngoku dumisa langoku khonza u Jesu Khristu.
Mina ngiyayi bonga i Nkosi ukubana ingi thumile, yangi nika leli ithuba ukubana nge thule ilizwi lika Jehova phambi kwe bandla lakhe lamhlanje lapha e Hillside.
Isi qokoqela sesi fundo sethu salamhlanje sithi “Inhliziyo ka Nkulunkulu i khothamela eku phathweni kwabantu ngo thando lango zwelo, okungela bandlululo hatshi ngo cuku.”
Bathi ngesi Lungu “God’s heart bends towards justice.”
Ngeyinye indlela sithi isi fundo salamhla, zwisisanini ukubana u Jehova ngu Thinxo onjani bazalwane ukuze lanelise uku dlelana laye ngemfanelo zakhe. Nxa unga mazi u Jehova, ma unga mzwisisi u Jesu Khristu awungeke wanelise uku mlandela. Ma use mnyameni nge ndlela lange simo sika Nkulunkulu awungeke wenelise uku kholwa kuye.
Kantike uma ufuna uku zwisisa ngo Jehova kumele u khangele embhalweni. Uma sifuna uku zwisisa ngo Nkulunkulu kumele sikhangele e Bhayibhilini.
Uthi u mbhalo u Nkulunkulu u thembekile (1 Corinthians 10:13) njalo uyiku khanya (1 John 1:5). Ule sineke (2 Peter 3:9) njalo ka phongu ntshintsha nje njenge mthunzi yezi hlahla e hamba ilandela ilanga lize liye tshona iqalise kakutsha ngaku sasa njalo. (James 1:17)
U Jehova ngu Nkulunkulu wothando ukuthi waze wanikela indodana yakhe ezelwe yodwa ukuthi labo aba kholwa kuyo banga bhubhi babe loku phila oku naphakade (John 3:6).
Kunengi esingaku balisa ngo Nkulunkulu esimkhonzayo bazalwane esiku fundayo ma sibala i Bhayibhili.Lamhla sikhangele into eyodwa ngo Nkulunkulu esibonisa ngezinto ezimelwe ngu Jehova.
Ngithi yinto eyodwa esiyi khangeleyo kodwa nxa uwu bala umbhalo ngoku zwisisa uza bona ukuthi isifundo sethu lesi sigoqela yonke into esitshela ngesimo sika Jehova.
Sithi isifundo “God’s heart bends towards justice.”
Ngingathi mina ngama fitshane u phelele umbhalo lapha bazalwane. Kayikho into esele phandle ngo Jesu Khristu onga funa ukuyazi kumbe ukuyi zwisisa nxa usu zwisise njalo wamukela ukuthi u Jehova ngu Nkulunkulu wothando.
There is no Jesus Christ, our Lord; without justice.
There can be no Christianity which is not concerned with justice.
A church which is not concerned with justice does not belong to Christ and is irrelevent to society.
There is no God without justice.
A church which does not understand or accept this fact is spiritually dead.
Angeke abe khona u Khristu ma kungelaku phathana kuhle loku thandana phakathi kwabantu bakhe.
Bathi ngesilungu yi “Theology of justice.”
Singathi thina li Vangeli loku phathana kuhle loku nakelelana njenge muli ka Jehova.
Uthi u mhlabeleli kuzi Hlabelelo 19, umthetho ka Jehova u phelele
“1 Amazulu ayazisa udumo lukaNkulunkulu, lomkhathi utshumayela umsebenzi wezandla zakhe.Umlayo we NKOSI uphelele, uphendula umphefumulo; ubufakazi be NKOSI buqinisile, buhlakaniphisa ongelalwazi; 8 izimiso ze NKOSI zilungile, zithokozisa inhliziyo; umthetho we NKOSI uhlambulukile, ukhanyisa amehlo.”
Athi u mhlabeleli ku Psalm 50: 6
“6 Lamazulu azatshumayela ukulunga kwakhe, ngoba uNkulunkulu ngokwakhe ungumahluleli.”
“And the heavens proclaim His ritheousness, for He is a God of justice.”
U tshoni umbhalo ma usithi u Jehova ungu mahluleli?, a God of justice.
Ma sikhuluma nge “justice system” sikhuluma ngo mbuso. U mbuso u goqela uku phathwa kwa bantu, uku phathwa kwezinto zonke ezi thinta abantu elizweni lemi thetho oku buswa ngayo ilizwe oku goqela ukuhlalisana kwabantu loku phathwa kwe notho yelizwe.
Kwele Gibhithe siyayi bona i nkosi entsha u Faro efaka imi thetho emitsha eyayi hlose ukuncindelzela abantwana baka Israyeli. Siyambona u Faro e guqula imithetho yelizwe esenza ama Juda izi gqili zama Gibhithe.
Kulapho ke u Jehova asibonisa khona ukuthi yena ungu Nkulunkulu olo thando njalo olo zwelo kwaba hluphekayo laba ncindizelwayo.
Uthi umbhalo wabezwa u Jehova ese mazulwini abantwana baka Israyeli be bubula be khaliswa yibu gqili loku phathwa ngo cuku ngama Gibhithe.
Uthi u Jehova ku Mosi:
“9 Khathesi-ke, khangela, ukukhala kwabantwana bakoIsrayeli sekufikile kimi; njalo lami ngibonile ucindezelo amaGibhithe abacindezela ngalo.10 Khathesi-ke, woza, ngizakuthuma kuFaro ukuze ukhuphe isizwe sami, abantwana bakoIsrayeli, eGibhithe.”
(Exodus 3:9-10)
Siya mbona u Nkulunkulu eyingenela esithi ngingu Nkulunkulu wo thando uku bandlulula abantu loku ba phatha ngo cuku akukho emthethweni yami.
Ku Exodus siyalu bona uzwelo luka Jehova kulabo abancindezelwayo. Uthi kundima yesibili ku Exodus 20:
“2 Ngiyi NKOSI uNkulunkulu wakho eyakukhupha elizweni leGibhithe, endlini yobugqili.”
Yilo ivangeli esi ngalo bazalwane nxa singa baka Khristu. Uthi u Jehova ku Isiah 58: 6-7 nanti i vangeli engili thuma lona:
“6 ….ukuthukululwa kwezibopho zobubi, lokukhululwa kwemichilo yejogwe, ukuze bakhululeke abacindezelweyo, kwephulwe wonke amajogwe? 7Kayisikho yini ukuthi wehlukanisanele ukudla kwakho labalambileyo, lokungenisa abayanga emzini wakho, lokugqokisa ohambaze lapho umbona, lokungacatsheli inyama yakho?”
Uthi u Isaiah, the purpose that God calls us to is this:
Isiah 58: 6-7 “…..to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the
yoke, to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke… then
your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.”
This is the mission of the church of God, this is the assignment of every true christian.
This is what Christ is saying to us today.
There is no justice without freedom.
Absence of freedom means oppression and injustice.
There is no justice without economic empowerment.
There is no justice in the midst of hunger and economic deprivation.
There is no justice in sickness and disease and want of health services.
There is no justice in deprivation of freedom to worship your God and creator.
That is the message for today. That is the gospel of Christ.
U Jehova uma laba yanga, laba swelayo. U Khristu uma laba ncindezelweyo. Umi laba lambayo, laba gulayo; laba swelayo.
Nanka amazwi ka Khristu ngokwakhe ku Luka 4 mzukwana e qala umsebebenzi we vangeli lakhe e Galile. Siya mbona ebala ku profethi uIsaya esithi:
“18 UMoya weNkosi uphezu kwami, ngakho ingigcobile ukuthi ngitshumayele ivangeli kubayanga; ingithumile ukusilisa abadabukileyo enhliziyweni; ukumemezela ukukhululwa kwabathunjiweyo, lokubona kwabayiziphofu, ukukhulula ababandezelweyo,19 ukumemezelaumnyaka womusa weNkosi.”
Uthi ngemva kwalokho “21: Lamuhla lumbhalo ugcwalisekile endlebeni zenu.”
Uthi u Jehova ibandla lakhe kali sukume lidlulisele ivangeli lakhe phambili kubo bonke aba felwa ngu Jesu Khristu esi phambabnweni.
Uthi u Jehova ngambiza u Mosi wasukuma wakhokhela abantu bami waba khipha elizweni lobu gqili e Gibhithe.
Lathi silayo i Gibhithe bazalwane. Silabo abase Gibhithe phakathi kwethu bazalwane sikhuluma nje. Silabo abase Gibhithe yezombuso we lizwe, abanye base Gibhithe ye ndlala, eyoku swela, leyoku phathwa ngo cuku ngaba khokeli. Abanengi base Gibhithe yoku hlupheka loku swela khonapha e Zimbabwe.
Uyakubiza u Jehova mzalwane. Uthi sukuma ngiku thume ku Faro e Gibhithe uye khulula abantu bami. Uya vuma yini mzalwane? Liya sukuma yini ma Wisili. Lingo Mosi yini bandla lika Jehova? Ingqobe ikuwe mzalwane.
Sisi gqibe bazalwane isifundo sethu salamuhla ngokuzwa ukuthi u Khristu uthini ngomthetho lango mbuso ka Jehova ma ebuzwa li gqwetha laba Farisi.
“36 Mfundisi, yiwuphi umlayo omkhulu emthethweni? 37 UJesu wasesithi kuye: Wothanda iNkosi uNkulunkulu wakho, ngenhliziyo yakho yonke, langomphefumulo wakho wonke, langengqondo yakho yonke; 38 yiwo lowo umlayo owokuqala lomkhulu. 39 Lowesibili ufanana lawo uthi: Wothanda umakhelwane wakho njengalokhu uzithanda wena. 40 Kuleyomilayo emibili kumisiwe umthetho wonke labaprofethi.
Ma uthanda u Nkulunkulu wakho njalo uthanda umakhelwane wakho awusoze uyimele i Gibhithe phakathi kwabantu baka Jehova. Uza bizwa usabele usukume njengo Mosi. Uzayi nqoba i Gibhithe. Amen
